Are you technically inclined? Do you have any experience with audio equipment? Have you ever used a video camera? Whether the answer is yes or no, OLPH’s Audio Visual ministry is seeking volunteers to assist in the parish’s growing needs.

Audio/Visual Technicians assist in the spread the Gospel by providing expertise in various technologies such as audio systems for preaching and musicians, visual overlays and imaging processing, and camerawork for livestreaming.

For those interested, prior experience and knowledge are not necessary as all the needed training will be provided. Come learn a new skill and discover a new way to give glory to God!

This team prepares the worship space for daily and Sunday liturgies during each liturgical season. They arrange for plants, flowers, and all decorations and maintain their appearance throughout the year. They change altar linens and clean the sacred linens used during Mass. Extra help is much appreciated and needed before major church holidays (i.e. Christmas and Easter).

Este equipo prepara el espacio de adoración para las liturgias diarias y dominicales durante cada tiempo litúrgico. Organizan plantas, flores y todas las decoraciones y mantienen su apariencia durante todo el año. Cambian las sábanas del altar y limpian las sábanas sagradas que se usan durante la Misa. The Eucharist is the center of the Church’s life and this ministry is essential to the sacramental sharing that is the high point of the Mass. We serve at the Lord’s Table by offering the gifts of His Body and Blood to the gathered assembly. As such a Eucharistic Minister becomes a servant of Christ and a servant for the gathered assembly.

The Home Eucharistic Minister brings comfort of personal presence and prayer to the sick or homebound who often feel isolated. These ministers have shown their devotion, love and reverence to the Eucharist.

Loved ones who have recently passed away

Please pray for these members of our parish community who have recently died, as well as for their families and friends who mourn them.

Making arrangements for the funeral of a loved one

Upon the death of a loved one, please call the OLPH Pastoral Center so that our Bereavement Ministry may assist you during this difficult time and schedule and plan services to entrust your loved one to God’s grace and mercy. We have a Bereavement Team who will assist you in making service arrangements. For services in English,  please contact:

Pre-planning your own funeral

There is a great spiritual blessing that comes when people choose to engage in the process of making plans for their own funeral services. Doing so also eases the burden on family members at the time of death. If you are interested in this possibility, please contact one of the priests at (661) 259-2276. They will put you in touch with the OLPH Bereavement Ministry to assist.

In accordance with the Pastoral Plan, this committee meets monthly to ensure that “Mass brings relevancy and energy to our congregation, engaging us to celebrate on Sunday and live the Word of God all week long.” The Liturgy Planning Committee meets to plan how every aspect of the liturgy can speak to the assembly about God’s love for them and how God invites them into sharing the mission of His Son.

Ushers have a dual role in that they greet people as they enter the church for Mass and then perform usher duties. Some of those duties are guiding people to a seat, gathering the collection, and leading people to the Eucharist during the Communion Rite.

They are the first face many people see in approaching the church; it is important that they are friendly, kind and compassionate.
