This Sunday is extraordinary for several reasons. For us, it is extraordinary because as a nation tomorrow we celebrate our Independence and what better way to celebrate the birth of our great nation than by offering up our prayers for all that God has given us and continues to give us. Despite what the past several years have put us through, our nation and community with the help of God have been sources of comfort and solace.
Life is full of changes. Three years have passed since I was ordained a priest and started my 3 year assignment at OLPH. And halfway through it, I lost my mother to lung cancer. Recently, some of you have told me that I have grown so much into the priest I am today. I have learned a lot since you saw me celebrate Mass that very first time with Fr. Craig early July in 2019. How fitting that this Sunday's gospel message (Luke 15:3-7) of "the lost sheep" resounds the same message through St. Matthew's account (Matthew 18: 10–14), which was the Gospel passage proclaimed at my class's priesthood ordination.
Dear Parishioners, Today the Church throughout the world celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. The Blessed Trinity – one God in three divine Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – is at the heart of our faith. This truth proclaims who our God is. This truth gives us a glimpse into the very nature of our God!
